Cooking with Essential Oils: Day 5

Today's chocolate and essential oil recipe is so mouthwatering, it's hard to keep these around for longer than a day or two. They are decadent so if you have self control (I clearly don't) then they might last a bit longer than that.

 

Without further ado, I present Cardamom Chocolate Truffles. *faints*

Native to Southeast Asia, Cardamom is added to traditional Indian sweets and teas for its warm, nutty aroma and slightly minty flavor.

 

Used in cooking it can enhance food flavor and aids in digestion and healthy gastrointestinal function.* Inhale for a sense of openness and mental clarity.

 

Cardamom Truffles

 

Ingredients:
  • 1 small avocado

  • 1 ¼ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • ¼ teaspoon vanilla bean paste

  • 2 drops Cardamom oil

  • ¼ cup walnuts (optional)

 

Instructions:
  1. Mash avocado until smooth.

  2. Melt chocolate chips in microwave, stirring every 30 seconds.

  3. Tip: Set aside a ¼ cup of the melted chocolate for dipping.

  4. Add avocado, vanilla, and Cardamom oil to melted chocolate and combine.

  5. Cover with plastic wrap and chill for a few hours.

  6. Using a cookie scoop, take the chocolate mixer and form a ball.

  7. Dip in the left over melted chocolate, and sprinkle with gold dust, cocoa, or sprinkles
